Mother's Day Rodeo
2025
The Mother’s Day Rodeo has been a cherished tradition since the 1950s, created to honor Mary Mad Plume, the matriarch of the Mad Plume family. Over the years, it has grown into a staple event at Hell’s Half Acre, attracting cowboys and cowgirls from across the region. With thrilling rodeo action including bull riding, bronc riding, and roping, the event also features the unique highlight of buffalo riding.

A standout moment each year is the Mother of the Year award, recognizing a local mother who makes a significant impact in the community. This special honoree is celebrated with gifts and enjoys the rodeo as our guest of honor.
Celebrate Mother’s Day the Hell’s Half Acre way—where tradition runs deep, and the spirit of the Indian cowboy lives on.
